On March 4, 2025, the leaders of Arab countries – led by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan in cooperation with the Palestinian Authority – gathered in Cairo and proposed a real political plan to lead us out of this crisis.

These are the steps of the plan:

1

End the war and release all the hostages

2

The Palestinian Authority will replace Hamas as Gaza’s ruling power

3

Democratic elections for Palestinian leadership

4

Invest $53B to rebuild the Gaza Strip and provide crucial services to 2 million Palestinians

5

Establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, ending the conflict and violence, and ensuring peace and security for all in the land

The Regional Plan for Peace

Good for Israelis, Good for Palestinians

It’s been almost a year and a half of pain, grief, and trauma. And all the Israeli government can offer Israelis and Palestinians is threats of a forever war in Gaza, abandonment of the hostages, and more violence. The extremists in power haven’t even considered seeking a diplomatic solution, a peace plan that could guarantee everyone safety. But on March 4, 2025, after almost 17 months of war, abandonment, and killing, the Palestinian Authority gathered with leaders of Arab countries in Cairo, led by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, and adopted a plan to end this catastrophe.

It's time for everyone to sign on to the plan and become true partners in the solution. We call on the Israeli government, and on political parties in the coalition and the opposition in Israel, and on leaders around the world, to accept the only plan on the table that can end the war on Gaza, bring back the hostages, and ensure that Israel will not remain in the Strip in 2026, 2027, 2028, or forever.

Any delusional plan that is based on ethnic cleansing and resettlement is a recipe for disaster and unending violence. This is the only realistic proposal that can move us toward peace. These are the plan’s main points:

  1. End the war and release all the hostages. Continuing the ceasefire agreement and expanding it to all fronts, including the West Bank, and making it permanent.

  2. The Palestinian Authority will replace Hamas as Gaza’s ruling power. The PA, with the support and oversight of Arab states, will manage the Gaza Strip and be responsible for its reconstruction at a cost of $53 billion – a sum that will be raised for this purpose by the Arab League.

  3. Democratic elections for Palestinian leadership. Within approximately one year, elections will be held across the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem to elect new leadership for the Palestinian people.

  4. Establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, ending the conflict and violence. Negotiations based on the principles of safety, freedom, justice, and independence for both peoples, Israelis and Palestinians, will take place between the Israeli and Palestinian leaderships for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.

This plan is supported by all the heads of the Arab League, the secretary general of the United Nations, the European Union, and presidents and prime ministers around the world. Even Hamas said it would agree to it. But two obstacles remain: the extremist governments in Israel and the United States – the greed of Netanyahu’s coalition and the messianic fantasies of Smotrich and Ben-Gvir, and the racism of Trump with his calls for ethnic cleansing.

We cannot stand aside and let the possibility of a peaceful and prosperous future slip through our fingers. We know that when we raise our voices, take to the streets, and demand another way, we can fundamentally change our reality.

After almost 17 months of protesting for an end to the war on Gaza and the return of every hostage, we’ve managed to achieve the current ceasefire against the wishes of the extremists in power. Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir, and Smotrich did everything they could to block the ceasefire deal, but dozens of hostages have come home, and many lives have been saved in Gaza. We know that every hostage returned alive and every life saved in Gaza is a defeat for the extremists, and a victory for us.

Now we must ramp up our fight again, this time to determine the direction of our future on this land. The choice is a forever war, endless bloodshed, death, and grief, or Israeli-Palestinian peace. Unfortunately, the Israeli government's answer is clear. But so is ours. YES to peace.
